Do We Worship a Bully

(by Kelly Wright)
God’s wrath permeates the pages of Scripture. Its presence cannot be overlooked. The presence of wrath in the Bible has led one author to conclude that: The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully. (Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion, 31)

What Can Sin Do in a Believer's Life?

What can sin do in a believer’s life? While “the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin” (I John 1:7), we can still receive the consequences of those sins in the following ways if unconfessed and unaddressed in our life:
o It can disqualify us from our ministry (I Cor. 9:27)
o It robs you of your joy in the Lord (Psalm 51:12)
o It can disgrace your reputation (2 Samuel 12:14)
