Did Jesus Ever Get a Stomach Virus (Russell Moore)
Last week a friend called my office to leave a question she wanted some help thinking through. Could Jesus have gotten a stomach virus? Or the flu? Or a head cold? This question was rooted in something a little deeper. Since sickness is part of the curse of the Fall, would Jesus’ sinless nature have exempted him from viruses and bugs and fevers?....
Well we know Jesus felt pain, had emotions, we know he got hungry, we know he cried... we know he aged. I'm thinking Jesus did experience sickness...as he was tempted in all ways as we are...and knew what is was like to live in a human body...and human bodies get sick. God (the Father) could have kept him from sickness though as to increase his time spent in ministry...maybe. Comforting to think Jesus might have been sick before and endured it joyfully in order to "glorify the Father"...as we are commanded to do. Interesting thought.
